Mt Alford

Grade: Moderate

Starting from the Mt Alford Scenic Reserve, a steady climb through beech forest beside a stream then up through tussock farmland. Then its more climbing following poled route over ridges which level out as you reach the top. Big wide views across the Canterbury Plains and inland mountains. 

The top is quite exposed to wind so bring a warm jacket. Boots are recommended as the bush section can be quite muddy.
